KDE/Mac Package Downloads (Old)
These packages contain an old release of KDE/Mac. Work is being done to modernize them, but for now, it is recommended that you follow the directions for building from Fink or MacPorts. KDE is up-to-date in both Fink and MacPorts with the latest KDE 4.2.x packages.

Release Notes
KDE on OS X is a project still in its infancy and the KDE/Mac team is currently a very small one. Consequently, there will be issues encountered with either the software or packages provided. Please keep this in mind while using, and do report any bugs or other software errors experienced at http://bugs.kde.org.
The KDE 4.1.2 packages install order is BaseSystem, Qt 4.4, KDESupport, Mysql5.1 (if installing Amarok), and KDE 4.1.2.
Below is a list of Known Issues
with these packages along with highlights of provided software.
- Plasma - The plasma desktop shell has been disabled so as not to interfere with the native OS X desktop.
- Nepomuk - Tagging via Dolphin is disabled because nepomuk is not started. This is being looked into.
- Solid - This hardware detection system requires a(n as yet unwritten) backend for OS X. This prevents, among other things, applications such as Amarok from loading iPods and MTP devices automatically when plugged in.
- Phonon
- This has been packaged by default to use the native phonon_qt7 backend. This allows KDE to utilize the native multimedia playback capabilities of QuickTime 7. The downside of this is that anytime quicktime cannot play back, phonon cannot play back.

If dev packages are installed KDE4's Phonon overwrites Qt4's phonon.pc file. Developers beware. - Juk - This has not yet been packaged with musicbrainz tagging support.
- Amarok - Creating a collection does not work.
